The Nursing professional trained at UPAL receives a comprehensive education based on scientific and technical knowledge, enabling them to provide nursing care to individuals, families, and communities at all stages of the life cycle, considering the context, interculturality, and applying appropriate care processes.
They are qualified to carry out health actions at the levels of health promotion, prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation from illness, with social responsibility, humanism, and professional ethics—meeting the priority needs of emerging and special health situations, and integrating interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams with positive leadership.
The nursing professional is a healthcare expert who can work efficiently in both hospital and non-hospital settings: community, hospitals, clinics, educational centers, workplaces; and may also freely practice their profession individually and/or by establishing specialized nursing service companies and/or nursing consultation businesses.
